Jerome Police say an 18-year-old woman was hospitalized after being struck by an accidentally discharged handgun last night in the 900 block of 1st Avenue East. Authorities say her injuries are non-life threatening.
Twin Falls County Pursuit
A driver is facing charges after leading a Twin Falls County deputy on a pursuit yesterday. The suspect was stopped with a PIT maneuver near Hankins and Addison and later airlifted to a hospital for an unrelated medical issue. Charges for meth possession and felony eluding are pending.
Door-to-Door Ballot Signature Confusion in Buhl
Buhl Police say a man reported knocking on doors and claiming to be a “police liaison” was actually collecting signatures for a ballot initiative. Authorities say he was not violating any laws and has denied the accusations.

Jerome County authorities say a missing juvenile reported earlier yesterday has been found safe. The teen had gone missing from the BlueFire Wilderness program near Shoshone before being located later in the day.
Jerome County Sheriff Retiring
Jerome County Sheriff George Oppedyk is retiring after 22 years in law enforcement. His retirement takes effect April 18, though he’ll remain with the sheriff’s office through August to help with the leadership transition.

A Twin Falls man has reached a plea agreement in a child sexual abuse case. Forty-six-year-old Matthew Brander will plead guilty to two counts of child sexual abuse, with sentencing scheduled for May 22.
Road Work at Hankins and Addison
Drivers in Twin Falls should expect temporary lane closures at Hankins Road and Addison Avenue through April 15 while crews install and remove power poles for Idaho Power.

High School Baseball Results
Burley baseball rolled on yesterday, shutting out Malad 10-nothing in five innings. The Bobcats host the Dragons again Saturday.
Kimberly also picked up a big win, beating Marsh Valley 8-to-2 in non-conference play.
In Buhl, the Indians fell to Gooding 7-to-2. Gooding broke things open with a two-run homer from Martin in the fifth. Rogers was dominant on the mound for the Senators, striking out 18 over seven innings. Ambrose provided the highlight for Buhl with a solo home run in the sixth.

Kimberly had a big day, beating Minico 11 to 6 and then rolling to a 21 to 5 win in game two.
Gooding topped Buhl 7 to 2 in conference play.
Skyline swept Canyon Ridge, winning 17 to 12 and then 19 to nothing.
Pocatello also took two from Twin Falls, 10 to 6 and 15 to 3.
Skyview defeated Jerome 19 to 5.

College Basketball
The 11th-ranked College of Southern Idaho women are headed to the Region 18 championship after a 73 to 49 semifinal win over Snow College.
Savannah Stoker led the Golden Eagles with 22 points as CSI forced 27 turnovers.
The Golden Eagles face Salt Lake Community College today at 3 p.m. for the title.
Boise State’s season ended Wednesday night with an 84 to 74 loss to San Jose State in the first round of the Mountain West Tournament.
Javan Buchanan led the Broncos with a double-double—28 points and 13 rebounds—while Andrew Meadow added 17 as Boise State finishes the season 20 and 12.
The Idaho Vandals are headed to the Big Dance.
Idaho beat Montana 77 to 66 to win the Big Sky Tournament—its first conference title in 36 years.
Isaiah Brickner led the Vandals with a double-double, 23 points and 10 rebounds, as Idaho punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1990.
