๐Ÿ”ซ Caldwell Homicide
Authorities identified the teenager found dead Monday in a Caldwell home as 18-year-old Hope Cornish. Police say her father, 51-year-old Delbert Cornish, was arrested hours later in Mountain Home. A teenage son escaped and called 911. Hope Cornish died from a gunshot wound, and the case remains under investigation.

โš– Lori Vallow Daybell Extradited
Convicted child killer Lori Vallow Daybell is back in Idaho custody after extradition from Arizona, where sheโ€™s serving time for other conspiracy convictions. She will serve five life sentences at the Pocatello Womenโ€™s Correctional Center.

๐Ÿ“บ Media Merger
Tegna, the owner of Idaho stations KTVB (Boise) and KTFT (Twin Falls), has agreed to be acquired by Nexstar Media in a $3.54 billion deal valued at about $22 a share. Nexstar would grow larger, though Sinclair Broadcasting (owner of KBOI Boise) is also considering a competing bid.

๐Ÿ Twin Falls Crash
Part of Shoshone Street in Twin Falls was closed after a motorcyclist, possibly speeding, struck several vehicles at Shoshone and 9th Avenue North. The rider suffered serious injuries and was Life Flighted.

๐ŸŒณ City Park Expansion
Twin Falls City Park could expand for the first time in 121 years. The proposal would close part of Hansen Street to connect the park and library, creating a safer outdoor learning plaza. Public hearing: August 25th at City Hall.

๐Ÿ”ช Murder Plea
Rolan Delacruz pleaded guilty to the murder of Dax Richins, admitting he stabbed him. Prosecutors dropped a second charge under a plea deal recommending life with parole after 23 years. Delacruz and co-defendant Alexander Garcia will be sentenced in October.

๐Ÿšค Boat Ramp Closure
The boat ramp at Twin Falls Park will be closed all day tomorrow for a routine dam inspection. Idaho Power says water levels will be lowered after sunset Wednesday and return to normal by Friday.

๐ŸฆŸ West Nile Virus
West Nile virus detected in mosquitoes at Three Island Crossing State Park. Additional cases confirmed in Glenns Ferry and across southern Idaho counties.

Nampa City Council rejected a tax increase proposal to help transfer the Ford Idaho Center to the College of Western Idaho.

  • Levy would have added $6 in taxes per household per $1 million needed.
  • Alternatives: raise ticket user fees (doubling revenue to $600K) or redevelop parking lot for commercial use.
    No date yet for transfer vote.
